Landau, idyllically situated between the Rhine and the Pfalz, is a university town, a conference town and one of the largest wine-growing communities in Germany. The activities of WEGOS AG are just as complex as Landau.
The old fortress town of Landau has many evocative nicknames: university, wine and garden town, market and shopping town. Because Landau is not only the geographical center of the Southern Wine Route, the offer for all areas is concentrated here. A city to live, shop, study and have fun. A diverse and attractive range of events in the Art Nouveau festival hall underlines Landau's reputation as a cultural city. A city with flair and yet the rural charm dominates. The city of Landau is framed by its eight districts, Arzheim, Dammheim, Godramstein, Mörlheim, Mörzheim, Nußdorf, Queichheim and Wollmesheim, which were incorporated in 1932 and 1972 respectively. They kept their own name. Vineyards, tobacco and rapeseed fields between town and villages protect the districts from urban sprawl. Six of the eight districts are old wine villages. Their vineyards are often better known than the villages themselves. Typical wines such as Riesling, Silvaner, Burgundy, St. Laurent, etc. appear on the market under old, well-known location names, such as "Nußdorfer Herrenberg" or "Godramsteiner Königsacker".
